HOST RL Srch4Kin: yes. If you google Max Dauthendey and Maximilian Dauthendey, you get a bunch of sites talking about his poetry, etc. His book "Der Geist Meines Vater" is a biography of his father, Karl, a pioneering photographer.

Max mentions the fact that Karl had four daughters that lived (plus a daughter and a son who died), all from his first wife Anna Olschwang, whom he met and married in St. Petersburg, Russia. I know of the names of two daughters, my greatgreatgrandmother Anna, the first born. And the youngest, Elisabeth, for whom my greataunt Elisabeth Dauthendey Frazier was named.

I have been in touch with a researcher in St. Petersburg who says that she can look it all up for me, but that the records over there are not like records over here -- they are all over the place and not in very good organizational order.

She wanted $80 just to look at my information, and THEN would start charging me by the hour for research

The Federation of East European Family History Societies (FEEFHS) was organized in 1992 as an umbrella organization that promotes family research in eastern and central Europe without any ethnic, religious, or social distinctions.

It provides a forum for individuals and organizations focused on a single country or group of people to exchange information and be updated on developments in the field. While it primarily serves the interests of North Americans in tracing their lineages back to a European homeland, it welcomes members from all countries.
